Barbara Wakefield
Barbara is fascinated by links between music, drawing and ceramics. Experiences in these fields are at the heart of her ideas in clay.
Light and shadow, rhythm and flow pervade the work, giving a sense of movement within positive and negative space. Translucent forms, hand built using bone china and porcelain, in conjunction with colourful coiled stoneware vessels can be shown together one inside the other or individually...
Since completing the Professional Development Diploma in Fine Art Ceramics in July 2004, Barbara has been working in Iliffe Yard, London, developing and marketing her work in this country and abroad.
